Field Manager

Eleven Mile Farm is a family-owned private farm located just outside of Pittsburgh. We specialize in the Slow flower movement where the focus is on seasonal flowers grown using sustainable growing practices. Between March and November, we produce unique varieties of flowers that are sold locally through our floral CSAs, arrangements, and to local florists for design work.

As a Field Manager, the individual will work closely with on the following:

  • Field planning and development

  • Soil restoration and improvement

  • Succession planning and planting

  • Caterpillar tunnel construction

  • Seed starting

  • Planning, harvesting, weeding, irrigation, fertilization, and organic pest and disease control

  • Management of field team and volunteers

  • Bouquet making

Ideal candidate will have at least one year growing experience and must enjoy physical work outdoors in a beautiful setting. We are looking for both a solid independent work ethic and an ability to direct and work with others. Communication skills and a passion for nurturing plants is a must. Since we are a younger farm, there is a level of learning that we are all doing every day. 

  • Able to lift 50lbs, and enjoys physical labor

  • Able to walk, stand, squat, and kneel for extended periods

  • Enjoys working hard outdoors in all types of weather

  • Works well independently and collaboratively

  • Familiarity with sustainable growing methods welcome!
